Meet Our Latest: the Qmir

We are pleased to present to you our latest product: the Qmir miniature reference source. This compact air-borne or acoustic excitation source offers a practical solution for reference testing in confined areas. Measuring just 22mm in diameter and weighing only 0.3kg, it fits easily into small cabins, enclosures, test-benches, or simply on open surfaces around machinery. It provides a steady, flat third octave band spectrum from 200 to 10,000 Hz. The produced volume acceleration or sound power (according to ISO 2696) is constant in time and at any location, while a volume acceleration signal is not needed.

The Qmir source only works in combination with a dedicated Qam controller-amplifier. All sets are provided with a factory third octave band level sheet. The Qsources Qmir supports accurate analysis where larger equipment cannot reach. Thanks to its unique small size, its pure monopole behaviour, and by delivering a constant pink noise spectrum with fixed volume acceleration in challenging environments, it allows a much broader application range than any sound power source on the market.

Silencing the Noise: Precision Solutions for Modern Home Appliances

Home is the opportunity for a moment of peace and quiet. Maintaining this peace is a challenge for manufacturers of comfort- and life-supporting systems since their products all risk generating noises in our rooms, and vibrations into the structure of the home.

Qsources addresses the critical challenge of minimizing noise in home appliances and heat pumps. Our specialized miniature excitation devices enable precise diagnostics on fully assembled units without the mass-loading issues of traditional shakers. By utilizing techniques like Airborne Source Quantification and inverse load identification, engineers can accurately map vibration transfer paths and isolate noise sources in tight spaces. This capability allows manufacturers to optimize components like motors, brackets and mounts early-on in development, balancing cost efficiency with acoustic comfort. Ultimately, Qsources’ technology facilitates better correlation with numerical models, ensuring a quieter and more pleasant operation for devices that work closely with people everyday.

Let’s Connect: Qsources is Heading to ISNVH, QuietDrones2026 and ISMA

Qsources will be attending several key exhibitions in the near future to showcase our advanced miniature excitation solutions for structural and airborne noise analysis. We will be exhibiting at:

  • ISNVH in Graz from June 17–19 together with Motion Scope

  • QuietDrones2026 in Delft from June 29–July 1 with Microflown

  • and at ISMA in Leuven from September 7–9

These events will bring together leading experts to exchange the latest developments in vibration and acoustics. If you are attending, we would be delighted to connect and discuss your specific measurement needs. Book a meeting via the Contact Page on our website: https://www.qsources.be/contact
