Newsletter: Reflecting on the Aachen Acoustics Colloquium: An Inspiring Experience!

 

We recently had the pleasure of seeing both familiar faces and new contacts at the Aachen Acoustics Colloquium (AAC). This event was engaging, with various presentations on perception, load identification and modular noise and vibration product development. The discussions were interesting and provided valuable feedback on our products and applications. We got enthusiastic responses to the launch of our new Qwis - a wide range integral shaker.

This shaker was also used for the 'Qsources Frequency Test'. In this challenge, where the participants could see the Qwis at work while fiercely vibrating a bicycle, the goal was to estimate the sine frequency by feeling only. It was difficult for everyone. Congratulations to Beray Demirtas, a research assistant at the ika research institute of RWTH Aachen University, for winning the Bluetooth speaker. During the test, we excited the bicycle at 19 Hz, and Beray impressively estimated 18 Hz!
