Thumper Shaker - Qtmp

The Qsources Qtmp thumper shaker is designed as a very narrow (44 mm) and exceptionally long throw (42 mm pk-pk) shaker, allowing very low frequency applications for a “small” self supporting shaker. The Qtmp shaker has a limited radial decoupling to the test-objects which gives three potential frequency-object application ranges for accurate measurements:

The extended range from 4 to 500 Hz on all heavy machinery, railway, ground moving equipment, mining, off-shore, etc. typically more than 4000 Kg mass.

The core range from 40 to 500 Hz on moderate mass test objects, typically more than 800 Kg mass, like car and truck bodies, truck frames, agricultural machinery, etc.

The core frequency range from 4 to 25 Hz can also be used on moderate mass objects of 800 Kg upwards, like full fitted car and truck bodies, truck frames, agricultural machinery, etc, in which case the 25 to 40 Hz frequency range should be used.

The shaker replaces an instrumented sledgehammer or large externally supported shakers when efficiency is needed or tight access is an issue.

The lack of any external support enables fast instrumentation, so there’s no longer any need to align the shaker, force sensor and test object. The shaker is mounted on and supported by the test structure, and can be glued onto the test object in any orientation. Its narrow design, with high force density, makes it possible to excite in tight spaces around machinery.

The force sensor is integrated and the Qtmp thumper shaker has various mechanical, thermal and electric protections for reliable efficient use.
